TIME MACHINE
(Norway)
The Norway-born, Austin-based Ingebrigt Håker Flaten is an internationally sought after double and electric bassist in the jazz, free jazz and improvised music worlds. He is also a composer and a member of nameless international collaborations, and most known for his work in the critical acclaimed Scandinavian jazz outfits The Thing and Atomic. The Sonic Transmissions creative director – who’s constantly on the road playing with jazz VIPs such as Joe McPhee, Mats Gustafsson, Paal Nilssen Love, Neneh Cherry, Thurston Moore and Ken Vandermark – also runs another sextet in his own name, the Ingebrigt Håker Flaten Chicago Sextet.
His latest effort, TIME MACHINE, showcases Ingebrigt as a solo artist utilising his acoustic and electric basses in new and refreshing ways. This concert will also be the release show for his solo album Hong Kong Cab on Austin-based label Self Sabotage Records.
