The Chicago trio, comprised of some of the heaviest hitters in Chicago’s jazz/improvised music community – Jason Stein (bass clarinet), Paul Giallorenzo (synth), and Frank Rosaly (drums) – create angular quirk rooted in jazz melody. Called a "singularly original unit gleeful trapezing between sound and swing", and a "bastard organ trio", Hearts and Minds releases their debut album this October on the Austin-based Astral Spirits label. They are performing at Sonic Transmissions with Chad Taylor on drums.
