CHASE JORDAN
When Houston-based Chase Jordan was 16 years old, vibraphone king Lionel Hampton invited the vibraphonist to sit in with his big band. At 18, he won the Outstanding Vibraphone Soloist award, presented each year at the renowned Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival, for the third time in a row. Today, Jordan performs in small and large modern jazz combos, ranging from bands led by esteemed jazz educator and musician Horace Alexander Young to a New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival gig with Jason Marsalis.
